Sometimes I just have to say whats on my mind. Sorry if you don't like it.

I miss my best friend.
It's been lovely to have time to grow and learn about myself and become independent.
It's been lovely to be able to simply be me, and to work on becoming the person I want to become.
It's been lovely to be able to be in school without the distraction of a boyfriend that I want to be with all the time.. (I'm quite terrible at prioritizing when it comes to that sort of thing..)
It's been lovely to have someone to miss so much
someone to write letters to and someone who writes me back just as much, sometimes more
It's been lovely to live in this middle place where the future is so unknown
where nothing is really for sure
but I'm ready to stop this now.
I'm ready for these last few months to be finished.
I'm ready for a big hug.
I'm ready to sing at the top of my lungs all of the songs I used to sing
I'm ready to really smile again and mean it
I'm ready for movie nights and airsoft wars.
I'm ready to have someone say goodnight to me and someone to listen to my ranting
I'm ready for someone to laugh with me when I'm being ridiculous
for someone to make me laugh when I'm sad
I'm ready for Sunday naps and late night conversations
I'm ready for my heart to stop hurting
and I'm ready to never have to say goodbye, ever again.

one hundred and six more days.

7.03.2012

Not too shabby..

What makes today good.

1. Finding out I actually passed two tests I thought I failed. Two tests I was sure I failed. I'm so glad I didn't study any longer than necessary.
2. Canada day cupcakes. I wish I had a picture to post. Let's just say beavers and hockey sticks were involved.
3. No school tomorrow. NO SCHOOL TOMORROW. Yay. I might have to suntan since how I have not spent any time outside since May.
4. I have clean laundry. Hallelujah. This is a feat for me. Not having a washer and drier has proven to be quite a frustration. Ohhh the life of a poor college student.
5. I got a letter from Cody. And even though I have received 80+ letters from him now, I STILL get just as excited to see an envelope addressed to me sitting in the mailbox.
Every.single.time.

This post doesn't even need a title.

Sometimes
I forget to be happy all the time.
Then I open up the mailbox
 and see a letter
addressed to me.
(Even better when its travelled all the way from Puerto Rico..)
And just like that, I simply cannot stop smiling the rest of the day.

Or week.

8.17.2011

three.

Remember this? My letterless week due to Cody forgetting a stamp? Not a big deal. I got over it.
Until yesterday happened. My stampless letter showed up, accompanied by another letter. Then, another letter came today as a surprise. What a good couple days it has been. =)

I apologize to my blogfriends who do not like to hear about Cody day in and day out.
I just love him okay?
And I blog about things I love.
That is all.

sidenote. I am moving to Texas on Monday. I am going to miss Carson.

mail math.

This is a letter.
I get one every most Tuesdays.

My letter....

minus one of these

equals nothing on Tuesday.

Yes blogworld. Cody's email today said this.
"PS.. the letter I sent last week.... I accidently put it in the mail thing without a stamp..I'm sorry! I'm so dumb. I dunno if it's gonna make it or not....hahaha"

Good thing he's cute.

Where does your mail go?

Have you ever thought about the journey a letter takes from one part of the world to another? Yeah probably not. But I think about it every week when I open my mailbox in Babb and find another letter waiting for me. Whenever I see Postal Vehicles driving I kinda get excited a little bit when I think about how truly amazing the postal system is! It's crazy okay. You just write a couple random numbers and letters on the front, slap a stamp in the corner and drop it in a box and expect that it will somehow find its way into the hands of who its supposed to.. and it does. Usually.

I have a story that seriously just made my life.

I have a post office box across the border because lots of things ordered in the states won't get shipped to Canada, and it's also cheaper to mail domestic instead of internationally(obviously). When you have a family member that uses the united postal system as often as my family does.. it's worth it. So. Today, my parents were going to get the mail across the border. So sweet of them, really. Anyway, all was well, I even had a parcel waiting. They brought it home for me and my day was made, the usual. Anyway, here we are.. five hours later.. and the best thing in the world just happened.
Someone knocked at the door. My mom yelled at my to answer it (of course =) ) so I ran upstairs and a familiar lady was standing there with her hands behind her back. She asked to talk to my mom and my mom was just at the top of the stairs. The lady started walking up the stairs. I thought it was kinda odd because people don't usually just head up the stairs that fast.. ya know? I figured something serious must be up. Call me a sneak, but I stayed at the bottom of the second set of stairs trying to figure out what was going on, but I could not hear a thing. This lady was whispering. Anyway, the lady walked out the door and I ran upstairs because I figured my mom would tell me whats up. She handed me a letter from Cody. This lady had found my letter in the garbage at the post office in Montana! Apparently, she first thought maybe my parents were throwing away my letters... but then she decided maybe they weren't so she better double check. It had actually been stuck inside a flier and was thrown away on accident. She rescued my letter and brought it back into Canada and drove it over to my house. When my mom told me I was so excited I ran outside and gave this lady a huge hug.

Have I ever mentioned how much I love living where I do? Where else in the world would someone find your letter in the garbage across the border, think maybe you were supposed to get it, and bring it to you? Nowhere. Nowhere else.

I am happy as a clam. It is officially my favorite day ever.

sidenote. This letter is officially my favorite and I kind of think deserves some sort of award for being so determined to find me... Perhaps a frame instead of the letter binder?

6.01.2011

ohhhhh helllo Wednesday.

The littlest things can make my whole day.
=)

4.12.2011

5416.64 km. 3378.76 miles.

Today, it has been exactly nine weeks since Cody flew to Salt Lake City.
Cody is no longer in the MTC. He is officially in Puerto Rico!
It is actually surprising how fast 9 weeks has gone.
After three weeks in Provo, and then six weeks in the Dominican Republic, a whole lot of Spanish and a whole bunch of letters and parcels, he made it. :)

How long do yo think mail is going to take?
...
Fortunately, Puerto Rico is part of the United States Postal System, so I don't have to worry about it taking too long. And since I am lucky enough to have a post office box in the US, I don't even have to worry about international mail rates. :)
Still though. Thats kinda far away.
There is exactly 3378.759 miles between where I live, and his mission home.

It honestly makes no difference how many miles away he is. It feels the same as it did when he was in Provo.
I'm happy for him!

4.09.2011

right on schedule.

Ohhh thanks for not letting me down postal service.

ask.

4.01.2011

life happened!

I used to check my blogfeed numerous times a day in hopes to see that someone had written a new post. Now, I have to check it numerous times a day to be sure I don't miss any. I have discovered so many fabulous blogs lately that keeping up with them all is starting to stress me out. I need one extra hour each day dedicated to blog stalking.

Dear Blog friends. I love your comments. I love following you.
Sorry my posts have been slightly shallow lately. I have been busy this week. Next week I will spend an excessive amount of hours in bed plotting posts and catching up on everyone.
Promise.

OH and in case anyone is concerned for my well being and thought I was going to die from impatience as mentioned in this post.. and this post..

Life happened!
I got accepted into my program, and will be moving to Texas in August.
My passport came so I will be going to Florida in 20 days.
I finally got to check the mail in Montana.
Oh what a happy time I had sitting in the parking lot of that post office..
Elder Cody Clay Foggin is still my best friend. He is the best letter-writer on the face of the planet.
Be jealous.
I found out that I made it past the first round of the process of getting the summer job I want. They are inviting me back for round two. Excellent.
This all happened in 24 hours!
I'm feeling good.
Part II of job application process is a test tomorrow morning at 11 though, so I best get to it.

The last test I took was a quiz.. in American Heritage during my short stay at BYU..
Let's just hope I do a little better on this one...

3.25.2011

story of my life.

Passport?
Please hurry up. I really need you to be here so I can go to Montana to check the mail. Also. I really need to go to Florida in April. You best show up soon.

Letter/s?
Please hurry up. It's been far too long. I know you are all out there somewhere. It's just time for you to get here..

Information packet?
Please hurry up. I can't stand the suspense any longer. You are ruining all aspects of my life by not being here.

I'm getting tired of going to the post office every day and coming out empty handed.
It's humiliating.

3.19.2011

Yeah, you make me merry make me very very happy

So, I'd like to apologize for my somewhat negative posts the past few days. I'll try and make up for it right now.
I am just going to list things that make me smile..

being able to wake up early without being tired (its a rare occurrence for me)
beautiful weddings with beautiful brides.. such as Jordan
drives to Waterton with Sydnee
curtains that keep my room dark during my naps
mail in any form, just as long as its not a bill
dedicated bloggers
the anticipation of summer
purposely setting my alarm early so I can hit snooze a million times
hearing birds chirp for the first time in the spring
missionary experiences
the thought of soon being able to wear flats without my feet freezing
blue toenail polish
summer clothing
babies
that moment someone realizes they are in love with their best friend
not owing anyone money
catching up with high school friends for hours
bringing a friend to church
dressing up real nice
when Justin Bieber tweets
full moons
how Cody has changed sooo much in six weeks.. but is still his same quirky self at the same time
sun dresses
having a good hair day
being able to make people laugh
stealing Sydnee from school to go shopping
wearing a new shirt for the first time
PDAs. Okay.. not when people are crazy... but when a couple is obviously in love and I happen to see them kiss a little bit, I seriously think it's just cute
young adult fiction
when my dad tells stories in great detail
puppies that fit inside purses
dark wash jeans
discussing politics with my parents (seriously its a good time)

the thought of a summer not spent at Subway
the smell of Chapters
hummer cologne
the giant piles of snow in Waterton
finding a perfect song for a perfect moment
remembering that one time I went to Vegas and Cali on a road trip with my favorite people in the world
finding money in my pocket unexpectedly
when Cody comes to visit me in my dreams
when people let me check my facebook on their super cool phones
when Rascal Flatts did a song with J Biebs
living in Canada
this article
the fact that people actually want to read my diploma essays
how it is extremely unusual for a week to go buy without having an in depth conversation with Spring
infecting people with Bieber Fever
when I have really weird dreams about horses and escalators

I started this post nine and a half hours before posting it. It took me a while to finish and I almost stopped many times altogether. I left and came back a few times. There really are lots of reasons to smile.. even if you just have to sit and think about what they are for a while..

3.13.2011

fifty.

Today is a day to celebrate in my life. Really. I received my 50th follower. I promised my readers that I would dedicate an entire post to my 50th follower, so here it is. Chanel decided to take the plunge and be the 50th follower of Simply Jane. I LOVE Chanel's blog. She writes some incredible posts. Honestly, she always has something spectacular to say, and I enjoy reading her blog on an almost-daily basis. She even has a sense of humour that I didn't know about. Take a look if you please. =) You won't regret it.
Thank to Chanel, I have one less thing testing my patience. I truly believe this is a harbinger of many more good things to come.. hopefully including some mail with some excellent news about where I will be spending the next chapter of my life....

3.11.2011

Now I was sitting.

I feel like all I am doing these days is waiting. And no, not just for one or two things... and no.. probably not what some of you initially thought of when you read that. I am literally waiting on everything...  I feel like life is just kind of on hold at the moment. and I can't really go forward with much else until some of these things start happening.

and yes I realize some of these are shallow. don't judge me.

waiting until my TV shows return in April
waiting for next week, next month, next summer, next year..
waiting to get my 50th follower.. (anyone willing to help me out on this. I will dedicate a post to you...)
waiting for money to come in the mail
 waiting for mail in general

okay. those are just added to the list because I really am waiting for all that stuff. ...
but mostly.. these are the things that are weighing on me..

waiting to find out if I am accepted to Harlingen
 waiting to start school again
waiting to find out if my summer job is going to work out
 waiting to go to Florida
waiting for my passport to come back
 waiting to grow up
 waiting for tomorrow

I'm ready to start getting some answers now so I can keep moving forwards. I'm not a fan of this sitting still stuff.

Goals

So blogging world. It has been one month since my best friend Cody left. I`d say the time has flown. I have accomplished quit a bit I believe.. including applying for my summer job, completely finishing my application for Harlingen, mailing in my passport to be renewed, making some new friends whom I am really beginning to just love, and making a huge mess out of my room. That last one there isn`t really a proud accomplishment.. but anyway.. I feel like it was a successful month; however, I realized there is just so much more I need to be accomplishing. .....So I stole this idea from Desiree.. but I am going to just make a list of a few goals I want to accomplish in the next month! I didn`t do new years resolutions this year, so I think I am going to start doing monthly goals. I feel like working on something for a month is less overwhelming then the entire year. Baby steps work well for me. =)

Goals
 March 9 - April 9th

- attack my messy room and keep it clean until I leave for Florida (I was going to say keep it clean forever but let`s be real.)
- figure out a Plan B incase my summer job doesn`t work out
- start making another quilt
- don`t go clothes shopping... not even once
- make an official budget.... 99% savings.. 1% other.. or something close to that
- clean my mom`s car
- donate something
- make Sunday dinner
- use that stupid treadmill that is sitting in my house. three times a week.
- I`ll throw in 100 sit ups three times a week just because it will be good for me.
- did I mention I need to stop shopping.. I am also adding no more eating out to that list.
- see J Biebs with Steph again
- don`t sleep in past ten, ever (I`ll aim for 9:30 next month.. maybe)
- finish choreographing the dances for my dance classes
- go to institute every single week

I`d say thats a pretty good list.
Blog friends. I need your help.
Remind me to keep working on these things please and thank you!..
and check up on me too.

2.26.2011

I like it this way.

Today. I watched a high school basketball game: my second one since graduating from high school. I reflected a little bit back on high school... This is all I could come up with.

Life becomes so superficial in high school. I have been out of high school for eight months. A year if you don't count my second semester of high school because I only had school in the mornings.. and only every other day. I can honestly say, I don't miss it...

Somehow, all the things that used to seem so huge.. ended up being so small.
(just like everyone who has previously graduated said they would)

The car you drive.
The jeans.
The sports teams.
The grades.
The flats.
The wall of fame.
The election week.
The dances.
The headbands.
The decorations.
The grad date.
The football jackets.
The cardigans.
The perfect dress.
The perfect college.
The assemblies.
The attempts to get everyone to participate.
The lack of school spirit.
The lockers.
The latest music.
The.. who heard it first.
The.. who wore it first.
The.. who saw it first.
The.. who dated it first.
The chi curls.
The backcombing.
The lazy days in sweats.
The hoping no one noticed how greasy your hair was.
The having the best spares.
The jocks.
The cheerleaders.
The suck ups.
The people who hated the suck ups.
The theater people.
The people who sat alone by choice.
The people who sat alone.. not by choice. ( :( )
The saying goodbye as everyone parted that summer post-grad.
The harmless pranks.
The not-so-harmless pranks.
The cliques.
The making sure everyone knew just how fun your weekend was.
The gross lunches.
The amazing pizza.
The fact that there was only {supposed to be} diet pop.
The not studying for tests.
The cruising.
The parties.
The fear of diplomas.
The buying snacks for seminary.
The blocking of facebook in the computer lab.
The.. who did this to my car?
The post-game parties.
The grad party.
The who knows the coolest boys.
The realization that you are never going to need to know how do Logs in life.
The disagreements in social.
The Friday night plans.
The town hopping.
The winning of banners.
The cutest couples.

We heard it a million times, and I have known it forever, but somehow, looking back, it is just different. It is something that everyone just has to figure out for themselves. You can't tell the sixteen year old girl that it really just doesn't matter who she dated or whether or not she was a cheerleader or if she played volleyball or how she did her make up or who her best friends were and what they did the second weekend of March last year... because to a sixteen year old girl, all of that DOES matter. There is no point in trying to tell anyone this until they have experienced life after high school. I think it is just part of the brain development.. You can't tell people just how unnecessary it all is if their brain isn't ready to accept that.

Everyone. Just enjoy high school, k?
One day, you'll see.

Here I am, only eight months later. My life changed 150% after high school... and again 150% more as I got sick and had to come home from college... I am still living in this little town.. working so I can leave. It is surprising to see how the same things happen, the same gossip continues, and how people even try to suck me into it. It's crazy. What is most important to me now? Nothing on that list above. All that stuff was the center of my life or the life of those I was surrounded by for so long.
Now? The center of my life..
Well. All those things that seemed so lame, and so small, ended up being so huge.
It is making appointments and doing taxes.
It is applying for scholarships and seeing specialists.
It is trying to figure out how to organize bank statements and trying to save money.
It is learning to love vegetables and coming home at 10:30 on a Friday night just because I want to.
It is taking vitamins because I want to, not because my mom wants me to.
It is deep cleaning, and studying my scriptures.
It is planning for the future.
It is making dinner and sewing quilts.
It is {usually} being responsible.
It is working.
It is forgetting I have a cell phone.
It is reading the newspaper.
It is volunteering at the elementary school because I would rather be there than sleeping.
It is paying for a high school transcript.
It is emailing back and forth with the head of the Dental Hygiene department.
It is keeping accurate records and talking to my sister on the phone.
It is having five hour conversations with my parents about politics and current events.
It is realizing how much I love children's literature.
It is scrubbing my bathroom and keeping up on the laundry.
It is being alone, and just thinking.

I like it this way.

2.24.2011

For everyone to see.

If you hate when people write blog posts about missing people or sappy crap about feelings, you have been warned and you can close this window now because this post will contain all of the above.

Today. Something about today. Something about the pile of letters waiting in my mailbox yesterday, alongside the picture to pin on my wall, combined with the emails, all added to the family photos loaded on facebook. Today? I miss Cody more than I ever have. I am just one huge ball of emotions. It's pathetic, really.. but I'm not ashamed.

I miss his freckles.
I miss how grumpy he is after a nap.
I miss how he is obsessed with his hair gel.
I miss his warmth.
I miss his laugh.
I miss him tickling me so incessantly I wanted to kill him.
I miss how we would fight too much.
I miss telling him how to spell chief and receive and believe and all the other ei/ie words every single time he had to write them.
I miss how one second we would be mad and then two seconds later it would turn into a pillow fight.
I miss how he folds his towels a certain way.
I miss how every time he said goodbye he would give me a tug with an extra tight squeeze at the end.
I miss how he sometimes thought he sounded like a dinosaur.
I miss laying on the floor with him behind the computer desk while Carson downloaded music.
I miss him whistling out of tune all the time.
I miss brushing our teeth together.
I miss feeding chickens and scrubbing eggs.
I miss jumping on his bed.
I miss how he got photogenic and photographic mixed up all the time.
I miss his hand tapping on mine after I would stop giving him a hand massage letting me know he wasn't ready for me to stop.
I miss piling in bed with Carson to watch a movie.
I miss how much he showed off while he was driving even though it made me mad at the time.
I miss his freakishly nice handwriting and his ability to keep ridiculously organized.
I miss how hard it is for him to get comfortable.
I miss his messy hair after a nap.
I miss texting 24/7 and more.
I miss him peeking out the windows of his garage to wave when I left his house.
I miss how he would always try to scare me when I came over to see him.
I miss how he would just randomly start dancing with me when he gave me a hug.
I miss having someone to call any time of day or someone to do nothing with.
I miss his aviators and the black jacket he wore every day.
I miss his obsession with shoes and how he bought a new pair almost every time he went to the mall.
I miss how he always had to have a pepsi.
I miss him stealing my five cent candy.
I miss his obsession with the courthouse and how he was so excited when I had to pay my ticket because he could tell me everything he knew.
I miss his inability to make decisions.
I miss his family.
I miss his house and his car.
I miss Kip.. and how he said "Kippy" in a freaky weird voice.
I miss the smell of his laundry detergent.
I miss watching him change the oil in a car and how he loved that he could impress me that way.
I miss the posters that he had in his room.
I miss how he tapped on my windows.
I miss our scale of 1-12, not 10.
I miss curling up to him on the couch and how he would automatically just put his arm around me.
I miss his smile when he did something I told him not to do.
Most of all.. I miss how much he loves me.
More than anyone else.

There you have it. I wear my heart on my sleeve.. for everyone to see.

2.19.2011

eleven.

As previously mentioned, I have become this incredibly lame, lame girl. At first I wasn't proud of it, but now I have no shame.
I had a not-so-good day. Straight up. No.. nothing went horribly wrong.. it was just a hard day.
Why?
Perhaps because I have reached the day eleven mark, and yes, eleven days is the longest I have gone without seeing Cody for over a year. I guess that number is just going to keep increasing from now on. It's kind of a big deal to me okay?
Worthy of a blog post for sure.
So I decided to do something to make myself feel better. I discovered I have a talent...

ask for source.

I officially make a pretty mean care package. Just saying. You should probably all be jealous of the moment Cody gets the mail next week.
I feel better.
